Updated HACs FAQs and Resources

The Commission has published new resources to support the understanding, prevention and reduction of Hospital-acquired Complications (HACs). These resources have been developed in collaboration with clinical experts and health service organisations across Australia.

HACs monitoring and review builds on, and aligns with the Action 1.28 – Variation in clinical practice and health outcomes of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and is further supported by the Commission’s User Guide for Reviewing Clinical Variation and the Clinical Care Standards.

In addition to the previously available HACs factsheets, the updated HACs FAQs and resources introduces a series of Frequently Asked Questions, updated national goal rates and a searchable list of complication specific clinical care standards, guidelines and literature.

The Commission invites members to explore these resources, and share feedback through an inbuilt survey at the end of the Commission’s webpage.
