 Join us in a role with unique responsibilities
You will play a significant role in the smooth running and efficiency of our brand-new day surgery hospital. You will be responsible for providing best-in-class day surgery services to our patients undertaking procedures relating to fertility, as well as maintaining a professional standard of practice for all services provided.  The scope of the practice within the perioperative environment may include, but is not limited to roles such as:

  • Pre-admission/admission/discharge nurse
  • Anaesthetic nurse
  • PACU nurse
  • Sterilization technician
  • Circulating and instrument nurse
  • Orderly

 Are you the ideal candidate for us?
Understanding there are ups and downs in reproductive health, you will be sensitive to the needs of patients and will be a passionate team player who has a commitment to quality, best practice and workplace safety. Ideally you will bring the following:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in theatre
  • Good knowledge of surgical procedures
  • Experience in a fertility setting (advantageous)Unconditional AHPRA registration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to communicate within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service and patient care
  • Flexible, can-do attitude
  • Time management skills with an ability to cope under pressure and prioritise in a fast-paced new environment
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • Working with Children Check (WCC)

Qualifications & experience

  • Prior experience with quality compliance and achieving accreditation against NSQHS standards
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a large team
  • Experience with financial and asset management, health fund contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of private health care organisations and insight into operational efficiencies and best practice
  • High level of professionalism and business ethics
  • Business and HR management experience is advantageous
  • Highly effective strategy development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Promote and actively use tools of quality improvement, customer service, benchmarking, and continuous service improvement to achieve accreditation against NSQHS standards
  • Provide leadership to a team of clinicians, nurses, cleaning technicians and administrative staff
  • Financial oversight, reporting and planning including achieving annual financial plans
  • Business development, marketing and promotion
  • Negotiation of health fund contracts
  • Human resources management
  • Asset management
  • WHS management
  • Strategic planning and development of short and long term business objectives
  • Compliance with all relevant legislative requirements
