Qualifications & experience

  • Prior experience with quality compliance and achieving accreditation against NSQHS standards
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a large team
  • Experience with financial and asset management, health fund contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of private health care organisations and insight into operational efficiencies and best practice
  • High level of professionalism and business ethics
  • Business and HR management experience is advantageous
  • Highly effective strategy development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Promote and actively use tools of quality improvement, customer service, benchmarking, and continuous service improvement to achieve accreditation against NSQHS standards
  • Provide leadership to a team of clinicians, nurses, cleaning technicians and administrative staff
  • Financial oversight, reporting and planning including achieving annual financial plans
  • Business development, marketing and promotion
  • Negotiation of health fund contracts
  • Human resources management
  • Asset management
  • WHS management
  • Strategic planning and development of short and long term business objectives
  • Compliance with all relevant legislative requirements

 Registered Nurse Levels 1 & 2

Canberra Microsurgery is a day hospital community dedicated to providing excellent, efficient, informed and compassionate care in a safe, high-quality facility using the best available equipment and processes for surgical and microsurgical treatment.

Exciting opportunities exist to join our team of dedicated doctors and nurses to provide person-centred care to patients from their first contact through to surgery and recovery.

We are looking for nurses seeking permanent full-time and/or part-time positions.

  • RN Level 2 – must be able to demonstrate competence in advanced nursing practice across clinical care, leadership, education, safety and communication.
  • RN Level 1 – must be able to demonstrate competence in nursing practice across at least some peri-operative skills subsets.

We provide competitive remuneration, flexible working hours, training and skills development. To be eligible to apply you must have RN registration with AHPRA.

It is also desirable for applicants to have:

  • Day surgery experience
  • Ophthalmic experience
  • Peri-operative or PACU experience/certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High standard of professionalism including confidentiality and empathy
  • Highly developed teamwork skills
  • Confidence in using technology and ability to learn new programs
  • Self-motivated and interested in further education
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail skills
