Public Consultation on Sustainable Healthcare Module

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) has developed a Sustainable Healthcare Module which contains five (5) actions to support healthcare services to include sustainability measures and targets when setting priorities and strategies. It is designed to support improvements in the safety and quality of health care, reduce waste and drive reductions in low value care and unwarranted variation across the healthcare system.

The Sustainable Healthcare Module will be voluntary for health service organisations. It can be implemented in any health service organisation and can be assessed as part of the organisation’s routine accreditation, should the organisation choose. Implementing the module will rely on the health service organisation’s existing governance structure.

Members are invited to comment on the Module’s applicability, content and appropriateness to the health sector. To provide feedback, visit the Commissions website or:

Consultation will close on 31 January 2023.
