My Health Record Day Hospital Requirements

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) have released Advisory AS18/11 around private hospitals and day hospitals connecting to My Health Record. The Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) has clarified that a My Health Record connection is not required by December 2024, however a plan that is in accordance with the advisory is required. Please review the advisory carefully to determine what your organisation will require for accreditation.

All day hospitals are required to be accredited to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. When seeking assessment to the NSQHS Standards health service organisations must review and provide evidence against Advisory AS18/11. Actions 1.17 and 1.18 of this advisory relate to health service organisations implementing systems for the use of the My Health Record system.

Resources available from the Australian Digital Health Agency’s website provide further understanding of the My Health Record system including how to register and set up access, and can be found here.
