The Annual Category Review of private hospitals is currently underway. The Department has audited the Hospital Casemix Protocol data and a draft list has been published and provided by email to all private hospitals.
As part of our consultation process, all private hospitals are encouraged to review the list to confirm their category is correct. This category is used by insurers to calculate their second-tier rates to apply from 1 September 2022. This year’s consultation will close on 29 June 2022.
The Department will review any feedback and publish the updated private hospital second-tier category list by 1 August 2022.
