The Department has published its annual private hospital second-tier category list and extends its appreciation to the sector for its patience through this delay. This list is legislated to be published current as of 1 August each year under Schedule 5 subclause 1A (5) of the Private Health Insurance (Benefit Requirements) Rules 2011 and is used by private health insurers to calculate second-tier benefits payable to individual hospitals.
