The Annual Category Review of private hospitals consultation period ended on 29 June 2022. The Department has audited Hospital Casemix Protocol data, and a draft list has been published and provided by e-mail to all private hospitals. This category is used by health insurers to calculate second-tier rates to apply from 1 September 2022.
The Department will review any feedback and publish the updated private hospital second-tier category list by 1 August 2022.
