The Annual private hospital second-tier category list as of 1 August 2024 is available on the department’s website. The Commonwealth Declared Hospitals list has been refreshed with publication of the list.
The department publishes a list of all private, declared hospitals in each private hospital category as of 1 August of each year. The list identifies comparable private hospitals for insurers to calculate second-tier benefit schedules effective from 1 September 2024 through to 31 August 2025. Consultation on proposed hospital categorisations took place throughout June and July and the department thanks those who responded.
