The Department has undertaken the annual category review of private hospitals, and published on 1 August this years’ Private Hospital Second-tier Category List on the Department’s website. This category list is used by health insurers to calculate the second-tier default benefits payable from 1 September 2022 to individual hospitals.
This list categorises all private hospitals and does not mean all the hospitals in the list are second-tier eligible hospitals.
