From 1 November 2021, the Australian Government will introduce a range of new and amended MBS items.
These items are the result of recommendations by the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) and the MBS Review Taskforce and consultation with the medical profession. Links to MSAC Public Summary Documents are included in the attached table.
The Department is seeking stakeholder views on the proposed private health insurance clinical categorisation and procedure type classification for the items in the attached spreadsheet; please note the details are subject to the finalisation of approval processes and registration on the Federal Register of Legislation.
Comments on the proposed private health insurance classifications and categorisations can be entered into column O of the attached spreadsheet and should be emailed to PHI@health.gov.au by COB Monday 27 September 2021.
